Finally we were blessed with perfect racing conditions at Mercer Raceway Park this past Saturday night. 41 Modifieds drew for pill positions and provided exciting racing all night long, for this BRP Tour event. I would also like to thank, all the Modified drivers that took place in the autograph session behind the grandstands.

 Just like a broken record, rain once again covered the Mercer area. With light rain showers making an appearance once in a while, the racing action continued . The entire show, including the kids bike races was completed in around 3 and 1/2 hours. Shortly after the last checkered flag fell on the evening, mother nature let her presence be known to us once again with heavy rain hitting the area.

It was also a privilege to congratulate Andy McKisson on his win last night, and to thank a true hero for his actions in helping Bob Felmlee out of his car at Lernerville friday night.

 A huge crowd turned out for rescheduled “Racing for a Cure” American Cancer Society Benefit Night, Free Shenango Valley Night presented by Three Rivers Aggregates, M&M Insurance Group Corp. Night, and Trinity Living Center of Grove City Corp. Night.  During intermission, a large throng of fans came onto the speedway for the second “Meet Your Heroes” Autograph Night presented by Duke Whiting for PA State Representative 17^th District.  Trinity Living Center provided 300 autograph books for the kids.

Here we go, rain did it again!  A countinous rain began with the last heat race on the track. Shortly after the red flag was thrown and the track was cleared of the cars, a heavy downpour hit the facility. The decision was made to cancel the show and a complete new show is scheduled for Friday, September 5th.

Well, once again showers were in the area. This time there was only a slight sprinkle at the track, and the racing went on without a hitch. Victory lane photos of Eric Gabany, will be added to the July 12th, gallery for his win. On track photos of Dillon Kineston will be added, for his Mini Stock feature win, in the makeup feature from the 12th, as well.

 Needless to say, the weather once again affected the racing this past Saturday night at MRP. After the heat races were completed, the 358 Modifieds took to the track for their feature. Mother nature saw enough racing action after 17 laps and opened the flood gates. With steady rain falling and then a heavy downpour, the race was made official with Eric Gabany as the winner.

 Mother Nature proved to be the big winner Saturday night. With severe thunderstorms approaching the track, the decision to cancel early was made, giving patrons time to leave in an orderly manner.

When the tornado warning was issued, Mike and Vicki opened the office as a shelter, for those of us who could not leave the facilities in time. I wish to thank Mike and Vicki for their concerns and actions for our safety.
