 The early morning rain made for a fast track. The crew did a superb job getting the surface ready for the night racing action. The Green Flag album does contain a sequence of photos from the wild ride, Jeff Hughes took in turns 1 + 2. Jeff was uninjured in the wild ride. In speaking with Jeff on Wednesday, the car received minor damage and should be ready for the next night of racing at Sharon Speedway. I’m thankfull Jeff was wearing his HANS device, as it did the job it was designed for.

Well, crossing the fingers proved to be a useless thought Saturday night. The track was hit by a soaking rain during the first Sprint heat, and the nights racing was canceled.

The weather did prove to be rather interesting Saturday night. I think we had a little of everything. The weather also made shooting photos difficult. It started off overcast, then we hit rain, then the sun tried peaking out from the clouds casting a red tint. It just proved being a bad night for shooting photos for me!

I was still recovering from minor surgery from last Saturday and began feeling ill around intermission. Because of feeling ill, I did not shoot any photos of the bike races.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a better Saturday next week!

I want to thank my dear friends, Paul and Debbie Oyler for covering for me this Saturday night. I was unable to travel to Mercer this Saturday night,  after receiving minor emergency surgery at 4 am Saturday. Hopefully we will return to action next weekend.

 Tri-City Speedway hosted the BRP Tour Sunday night, with Kevin Bollad taking the win. The Mod Lite Mini Series made it’s first appearance at Tri-City in 2009, with Rod Jones taking the win.

The BRP Modified Tour visited the big 1/2 mile in Pittsburgh this past Saturday. Kevin Bolland used the dry slick conditions and a cushion up against the wall, to take the feature win Saturday night.

With the tour at Tri-City Sunday and Mercer running Monday, photos will be posted late in the week.
